Credits: Theater critic for Variety, since 2002; theater columnist for Connecticut magazine; regular contributor for the Hearst newspapers of Connecticut, American Theatre magazine, Playbill, and Theatre Development Fund’s Stages on-line magazine. For nearly 34 years I was theater writer for The Hartford Courant. I have also contributed pieces for The New York Times, the Sondheim Review and other publications.
I grew up in Maynard, Massachusetts, received a BA in journalism/theater at the University of Arizona; I also received a Shubert Fellowship in playwriting at the UofA where I went to graduate school.
I also lecture and teach, including a course on “Hamilton the Musical” at the University of Hartford.
