Karen Isaacs

Karen has been reviewing theater for longer than she wants to remember. She is a founding members of the Connecticut Critics Circle and member of the Outer Critics Circle as well as the League of Professional Theater Women.

Karen Isaacs remembers her first theatrical experience at age 5. She’s been a theater lover since and a performer. She has studied voice and performed since a teenager; now she studies cabaret performance and is putting together a show.

She is semi-retired after a long career that included college teaching and public relations/marketing. She continues to teach part-time at Housatonic Community College. She earned a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University and a master’s from Fairfield University, where she wrote a thesis on American musical comedy. She has been reviewing for both print and radio since the 1970s.
