Bob and Karen Isaacs

Karen has been reviewing theater for longer than she wants to remember. She appears on WHNU, the University of New Haven radio station at 88.7 FM, or, in “Two on the Aisle,” where she discusses the current theater scene.  Karen also hosts and DJs the “Memory Lane” program on Mondays from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Her reviews and theater news column appear weekly in Shore Publications including The Sound and other publications covering Guilford, Madison, Old Saybrook and other communities. She is a founding members of the Connecticut Critics Circle and member of the Outer Critics Circle.

Karen Isaacs remembers her first theatrical experience at age 5. She’s been a theater lover since and a performer. She is semi-retired after a long career that included teaching English and journalism at various colleges including the University of New Haven. And serving as director of public relations and marketing at Housatonic Community College. She earned a bachelor’s degree from George Washington University and a master’s from Fairfield University, where she wrote a thesis on American musical comedy. She has been reviewing for both print and radio since the 1970s.
